It’s been removed until further notice.
I do not have the time right now for fixing the pattern myself, and I cannot deal with another “you ruined my child’s Christmas” email. People need to remember that the internet isn’t a wall. Speak the way you would speak in person. There’s a human being on the other side. I make mistakes like everyone else. The pattern was free. People are having wonderful successes with my other free patterns. This one’s simply been a knee in my back from day one, and I contemplated pulling it several times, but was asked not to by some. I should probably have listened to my heart instead.
Apologies to everyone. When I get the time, I will test knit the hat 2-3 times and re-write the pattern entirely.
Since I know you in real life and I’ve been eying your pattern for a long time, I’d really appreciate it if you could send it to me. I’ll let you know when I get around to it and help you test knit. =D
Sure Jenn, I can send you a copy. Can you email me at allisonmacalister at gmail dot com?
Oh, I really hope you get the pattern worked out and published again! I would looooooove to make a couple!!
Thanks Tara. :) At this point I just really don’t want to give anyone more headaches when I keep thinking the pattern is okay and it’s not. I want to KNOW the pattern is okay. Seems I’ve already developed a bad stigma over my head despite having three other successful patterns designed.
I too hope to see it back up soon, my friends a massive jaws fan, I just don’t know where I went wrong I seem to have had most of it in garter instead of what the picture looks like in st st. But I must amit it does look like a shark.
Keep up the good work.
Hi,
I think your Shark hat is a wonderful idea. I’m glad I printed out the directions earlier. I’m making it for my nephew. I came back on to read the comments on it, because I was trying to figure out the directions. I frogged it once because I wasn’t increasing the way I like it to look. That’s no biggie… sometimes you have to ripit and try again. I’ll try to post a picture of the hat once it is finished. Thanks for the great idea. :-)

I’m so appreciative of all the free patterns that people post on Ravelry and sad that others think it’s ok to leave such unconstructive comments. I’d love to knit your shark hat for my son and hope you’ll be posting it again soon.
I don’t know what people’s problem is. My little sister loves her shark hat and it was quite fun and easy to knit.
This hat is so adorable!! My daughter is on a swim team whose mascot is a shark, and I would love to knit her this hat for her birthday. Would you mind e-mailing the pattern? I don’t mind the mistakes; I tend to improvise as I go along anyways. Thank you!
Hi,
I wish I had gotten the pattern before you removed it, too. My new tradition for my 2 nephews for Christmas is to knit them silly, but cool, hats and I just stumbled across this one and it’s not here. I promise to love the pattern if you will share it with me!! People are mean in general, I guess, and I’m sorry that your free pattern caused you so much headache!
Michelle
I am very interested in making the Shark Hat and look forward to seeing the pattern on Ravelry very soon! My son is at college and is requesting a Shark Hat to wear around campus!!! Thank you and I hope to see the pattern up very soon… obmud
how productive you could be if you had eight arms for kttiinng. Max of Max’s World created this jolly kttiinng knit octopus and shares some sketches and process pictures of how it came together via CRAFT This entry was posted in Craft,
