The other day, I completed the last 5 rows to complete the pair of Monkey socks. It’s amazing. I think socks with a story behind them have a deeper meaning than regular ol’ socks. Take my jaywalkers. I grew bored of them. There wasn’t a drive. So the first one stands alone, still. But my first pair of [...] It’s here! It’s here! It’s finally back! For those who may be confused, my second Monkey, about 6 rows to being finished, got lost at a convention I attended in July. Myself and my friends, some of whom avid knitters themselves, scoured the hotels, asked convention staff, and re-traced my steps with no avail. A week later, [...] The past little while has been very busy! The time that I have had to knit has consisted of hauling an easy-to-multitask project in my bag, which has lately been the Rowan Felted Tweed scarf. Even then, I’ve not made enough progress on it to make a seemingly big difference. I did, however, treat myself to [...] It would seem that my body has succumbed to injury, again. I cannot stress enough that the only good thing coming out of this one is a voracious desire to knit, and lots of time in which to do it. I’ve started working on Jayne hats again. For those who don’t know, the coveted Jayne Cobb [...] I have a new camera! It’s a Canon Powershot A570 IS, and it’s really spiff. I have, of course, been wasting most of its battery on taking yarn detail photos, because the old camera couldn’t do such things. Here’s the possum fur yarn, redux. And a detail shot. Be it known I took about six of these. I’m [...] Hello blog! The knitting has progressed. The babyhat is complete. I’ve decided not to publicly post the babythings until the package is recieved, so you all must wait. To quench the knitting thirst, Here’s the progress on Boogie, namely the back portion: The colour matched my skirt. Awww. That’s one whole ball, right there. I’m glad I [...] No photos yet. My SD card reader on my laptop seems to fail to work, and I cannot find the USB connector for the camera. Thus, the photos are helplessly trapped on the camera until further notice. The good news? Ninja Boyfriend has the same laptop as me, and thus the same card reader. I shall [...] I knit up a gauge swatch for the recycled yarn, to use for the Boogie vest. It turned out to have some more stitches to the inch than the pattern. Oops. I turned to my trusty SnB Nation book, which I have to say, is an amazing resource for cool patterns(I’m using an edited version of [...] It’s been a knitterly few days. I re-charted the Monkey pattern chart to include one extra stitch on both sides. I also accomodated or an extra “widening” row so the pattern would be a bit larger, and would have 5 repeats instead of 6, and be just slightly shorter a sock. I’ll try it out after [...] Not planning on making a long-winded introductory post. The more you read, the more you learn! So, hello! Lately I’ve had a touch of bad luck on the knitting front.
