I’ve been hit with a bug. A bad cold bug. I’m pretty positive it happened when everyone visited for Winterlude. My body has a tendency to incubate viruses for a long period of time, generally three weeks or so. Given that, this one’s right on the money. It also is no coincidence that the Pirate has [...] This past weekend, I had a handful (about seven) of my friends visit my beautiful city, to hang out and take part in Winterlude festivities. I’ve done this over the first weekend of February for the past three years. We’ve dubbed the event “AwesomeCon”, and it becomes more like an actual convention every year. This [...] Goodness! Why do I not update here more often. I wind up with a million things to write about. Firstly, how about a new sock. This is a Jaywalker (natch) knit in Regia Canyon Color, in the Beach colorway. The RPM aren’t done yet. I enjoy switching up my socks a little so the monotony isn’t there [...] Completed things just brighten my whole day! First, I finished the first RPM sock… …and have cast on for the second. No slouch, no sir. I also knit a friend, for a friend. He is knit from BitterSweet’s Crazy Kiwis free pattern, and is for my friend Corrie for her birthday, as she adores kiwis. I also snagged myself [...] Whoa! Hey, it’s been awhile. The time has come to stop neglecting the blog. Lots has happened that should have been blogged about sooner than now. New projects have begun. (RPM, using Gypsy Girl Creations in Winter Solstice, a gift from the Pirate) I purchased some yarn from far far away. (Well, Pittsburgh. Soft Sea Wool and Malabrigo [...] The past little while has been very busy! The time that I have had to knit has consisted of hauling an easy-to-multitask project in my bag, which has lately been the Rowan Felted Tweed scarf. Even then, I’ve not made enough progress on it to make a seemingly big difference. I did, however, treat myself to [...] I have a new camera! It’s a Canon Powershot A570 IS, and it’s really spiff. I have, of course, been wasting most of its battery on taking yarn detail photos, because the old camera couldn’t do such things. Here’s the possum fur yarn, redux. And a detail shot.
